I have as any other artist had serious doubts in myself. I am afraid to fail, i'm afraid to be let down again, I feel like i'm going up the endless staircase in "Super Mario 64" (if anyone remembers that part in that game) and it feels like i'm going up all these steps and then you turn Mario around and you see that he hasn't gone anywhere. I haven't felt like Mario more than ever right now in that situation. I've even thought of taking a semester off, but I gotta keep going. There's too much at stake, other than my health problems, I have a lot of things to sort out through my mind to get through. And I guess I just gotta stay here at school and work it out and not give up even in the hardest times.

Heh, I even forget how you unlock the endless staircase. I think you need to do something in a different world. Maybe I really just need to go to another world to get where I want to go.

I got permission from Patrick to post this, actually he insist I post this. It's a good pic so I will. It's of his character Richard, that he colored and drew, and I shaded and highlighted him with a gel pen. Awesome collab if I do say so myself.

A portrait of Edward Cullen (from the Twilight Series) done by me, reference used from the move poster to get the actor's face right, and I touched it up in photoshop, but its mostly painted on Open Canvas 1.1

There's some things I could fix more on it, but i'll leave it at that. I really wanna try something like this on a canvas but with Dante. ^_^

Me and Ree are hopefully going to go to see Twilight on friday of MFF. And go to the Chicago AMC, SON. Excitment is building!

Also i'm getting together a portfolio to show at MFF in case people want to buy digital stuff from me later. And i'll be selling badges and prints there. The Sumi-E wolf painting will be up for a print and possibly my anthro city picture as well. I'll probably whip up some more full color things since those 2 are in greyscale.

Vehicle Critique

Ok heads up guys, i'm gonna be doing a commission which involves me drawing a motorcycle/scooter vehicle and I really am not familiar with drawing too many vehicles. I've done a few in the past, but then I don't draw them everyday, so I was wondering if anyone was up for critique or what not that's experienced with that. That'd rock. Also like links to tutorials or tips on how to color and shade said vehicles in photoshop would be AMAZING. I know I have some really awesome digital artists here that i'm linked up to, and if you guys would help, that'd be awesome.

Because i'm that lazy and I had people demand I post this.

Haphazard is a border collie/wolf hybrid character of mine that's tortured in a government lab. Test after test he wishes he could get away from this hell that his life is meant for he dreams of more. His luck changes for the better though when the scientist testing on him goes a little bit too far and ends up giving him a chemical SO strong, that he goes into berserk mode and kills the person who not only created him but tested on him. He escapes and flees into the woods so he can live a more peaceful, natural life.

Audio is "Never Too Late" by Three Days Grace. I AM NOT SELLING THE SONG IN ANYWAY. The song is a place holder until I get another song to replace it that I have the actual rights to. I would NEVER sell anything without the rights/permission from the band. This is for practice and entertainment purposes for a school assignment. Thank you.

Another Art Club challenge. I drew my character I just made into a head, Starbar into a Looney Tunes Wil E. Coyote styled wolf! He's a surfer so I added the surfboard. I don't know if I need to shade him though, since most of the Looney Tunes cartoons I own don't have them shaded. It really wasn't til Space Jam where they shaded. I don't know. Suggestions? :)

I listen to too much Paula Deanda. :P Hmmm what's new with me? I took a trip to Indiana with my friends Shiny Puppy, Vyren (Caeged Studios), and her beau James (Feng) to see the pooches at Wolf Park. The following video is of the wolves loving up on the photographer of the park, Monty. Please visit wolfpark.org and buy stuff or go visit there and donate money by adopting a wolf or doing a seminar so you can have a hands on experience too. ^_^ (It's all non profit, too)

ALSO i'm taking my first practicum there studying the animals at the park for artistic/animation purposes. The practicum is gonna set me back about $530, but well worth it, plus I read I can have hands on experience with the wolves which would be so awesome and unforgettable and I have no regret donating money to animals. <3

Working on animation more. I'm also practicing timing through making AMVs. If you wanna see these amvs, go to youtube.com/user/windancer53. Comment and rate, all that good jazz. I use other movies like the Lion King and Balto for my AMVs, but I do not claim these movies or their rights. I just paste things together.

WIP of the new fursuit head i'm making. Her name is gonna be Casey and she's gonna be the mascot for http://collierescue.com. This is a surprise for them. Unsuspecting rescues suspect nothing. :3 The jaw moves too. I gotta get a better video of it. ^^; It was crooked before.

Orphaned Works Act

Well Scott got my butt in gear to do this (i've been busy with finals) and I want to get it out to all the people that visit here. Yes, there is a scare about an Orphaned Works Act, and no matter how much it might seem like a helping hand to some, it truly is not. Not just ART, but songs, stories, books, photographs even of your family are at danger for being profited from. It basically makes art theft LEGAL. I know there are lots of furs/artists/writers who may visit this page too. Your fursonas, characters, stories, poems EVERYTHING are up for free grabs by a random person who cannot find proof of your work or whom wants to erase the signature on it. Orphaned Works means if they cannot find the owner. Which means someone MIGHT not do that research, and people CAN, with enough effort erase your signature. So please do not let this pass! Write to your senators, the white house, anywhere where you can get your word in! Sign petitions! Rant about it!

From my view, it is a bill. And all bills must be passed through one stage of voting by the people. And if we get the word out on what this is, we can help protect this. And this also goes for all different kinds of artists, not just the visual ones.

Art theft makes me literally sick as it is. This probably will not pass if everyone is informed. So i'm just doing my part getting to the ears which have not heard yet. I suggest everyone else does the same. Or gets their view out. Either way, it's us loosing our right to copyright by not registering. We have little money as it is as art students and artists, why take from the poor? It's kindofa backwards Robin Hood syndrome going on here with the government.

The bear up there is my new polar bear character, Boss. It's a fitting name because he's such a big fella and he'd probably be like a "boss" from a video game because of his size.

The others are facial expression studies from the Facial Expression book and studies from life and watching hip hop/melbourne shuffling/any vids of people on youtube are great figure studies.

These I also will show in reviews. And i'm going to color Boss.

So I shall be scanning in my sketchbook soon and putting pics up here of figures and face studies and whatnot just so you can see how much i've grown this semester. I gotta get stuff ready too for reviews. Oh man, its more work than I thought! But it's gonna be worth it in the end to get stuff done right.

I will get my email back today. I'm predicting so since i've had complications getting the password reset message sent to my school email, so I have another hotmail account it's being sent to. Me and Stephanie (Rhia) pretty much have a hunch who has done it, and the longer they are ignoring us confronting them, the more they are making it obvious it was them. It's a shame really, they were really a good friend to us in the past and it's a shame to have evidence that this person did what they have done.

Other than that, summer projects I have planned are:

-Collie/animal hats
-Prints to sell at the Collie Picnic to help afford their mascot I am going to make them.
-Starbar fursuit fullsuit
-Painting my Aunt Linda's house

And I just have been commissioned to do sketches for a children's fairytale book from my eye doctor. I'm really excited about this and I am meeting with her this Sunday. This will hopefully get my funds up for my costume making and get me more exposure. (:

Apologies everyone. Someone hacked my email (shadyhorses@hotmail.com) Tuesday around 7-8 pm. If anyone has recieved no answer from me or strange emails, please know this is not me, but a hacker. I've tried getting it back and i'm praying and crossing my fingers for everything to be ok. I really do not know why someone would hack my email, and they have hacked my oekakiart.com account and my oekaki and my friend Stephanie's oekaki site (this one was trashed with derogatory language against furries and spammed viciously). This email honestly is my life, my freelance job, and my personal life as well, I use it to make whatever living I can. I've had it for 5 years and i'm not giving it up to an immature person who thinks its funny to do this when I have done nothing to them. I honestly never do anything malicious or harmful to any other human being, and I wish this person would come clean and work this problem out with me face to face and get this problem solved and over with; instead of playing these childish games. I have a life to live and I do not want anything to do with someone's petty internet drama. I honestly and truely will let everything go if I am messaged privately and anonymously my password or have my things set back to the way they were with their original passwords and secret questions and given the go. If not, I will continue to search for evidence, and if I do find evidence to someone who has done this, I will call the police because hacking is a felony and it's a breech into identity theft. The truth always seems to surface eventually so hopefully I will either get my evidence or my email back soon. Either way, I trust that everything will be eventually ok. If anyone wants to get in touch with me, please contact me in a message here.

Again i'm sorry for any inconvience and if you are waiting for a tail to come in the mail, I have them all sent out except MoonMochi's because I have just bought the silver wig and the fur is at my house. I should have everything sent by next week. Thanks for being patient, everyone. <3

After lots of stress and ups and downs, i'm back updating. I've had just a hell-riden month concerning problems from many areas of my life. These things are being fixed though and my friends and my art are keepin me alive. (:

There's another tiger tail but I gotta get the pics for that off of my facebook. XD It's 4:30 am and i'm dead.

Here are some badges i'm making for friends that are/would have come to FCN this year. They glow in black light as well!

These usually cost $15.00-$20.00.
Or $20.00-$25.00 for a full body badge.

For those who do not know what badges are/their purpose: Badges are a way for furries to recognize each other at conventions. We are a mostly online-based culture so pictures of us in the real world really aren't shown too often. Even if we do, there's more likely someone is going to recognize a character than a person. XD We wear our character's badge or ID to show whom our names are in suit, and who we are as our character if we are out of suit or don't have one.

Murals

Yeah sorry for the many posts, I'm just getting these up so you guys can see different mediums of what I do.

Murals!

More close-ups coming soon of the window/beach one.

Murals would cost probably about $25-$30 an hour depending on space and detail. I use acrylic paint and I ask that the paint is paid for as well. I prefer the $.50 to $1.00 paint from Micheals, so don't worry about that, plus I work faster than most artists. Even though I do take my good time on them.

I do not do out of country jobs yet (no passport). I will do an out of state job though if my plane tickets are paid for and I have a place to sleep and am paid partly that day to get food to eat, until the mural is done. I will not do jobs during the week in August-May because of school. And depending on if I have summer classes June-Beginning of July. I will be available on the weekends Saturday morning-Sunday night (as far as I know, I don't know my schedule change for next semester). Local jobs, I will drive myself to your house, don't worry about that.

Time spent on blackboard frame: Est. 8 hours
Window/Beach: 3 different visits about 4-6 hours each time.

Side Note: It's almost 4 am and I danced at the Ball for 4 hours and i'm not resting why? Haha, I must be out of my mind.

Costumes Part 2

This is more of the furry side of my costumes. The last one is of my fursona, but I prefer not to show the head in this public blog since she's very personal to me and I like to keep that side of my art to myself., my family and close friends.

The first one is also a fleece character custom hat. That one is of my character, Starbar. I do custom hats for $30-$35 (depending on detail). I will also start doing general animal hats (canines, cats, birds, dragons, mythical creatures, dinos, i'm gonna try for a variety!) I'd probably sell the generals for about $25-$30 since they'd be premade and not as much detail would go into it as a custom character plus, things can be made in bulk easier on the general ones.

The second pic is a back view.

The third one is a white plain dragon tail. Those are about $35-$40 because they are so plain, but they are long and thick like it'd be proportionate to the human body.

Costumes Part One

Want a coat like this? Just contact me and I actually teamed up with my mom for this Dante coat. We do respect the integrity of copyright, so we will not make trenchcoats with all the exact details from a character if the coats/outfits are original designs. But we can give you a good base and point you to where you can get the supplies for the details and tell you how you can do it. (: My mom is a really talented seamstress (she doesn't know it!) and I really am trying to get her promotion and have her get her own commissions or join with me on this.

A coat like this would probably go for about $300-$500 depending on detail. (There's so much work and custom fitting that goes into these suckers, plus vinyl is VERY EXPENSIVE.)

The wig was cut from a longer wig, (oh man that was a pain) it took me and my mom 2 times to do it since I was thinking I could be a hair dresser since I dye my own hair. My mom warned me, I didn't take heed and I messed it up. But this wig is good since I just gave the scissors to my mom. She was all like "What do I look like? A hair dresser?" Ha! She could be. I guess being a multi-threat artist runs in the family!

The sword was bought (Halloween USA).
The boots were bought as well (Hottopic)
The pants, I forget where I got them from and the shirt too. But they are just a black tank top since i'm not going shirtless under that like the costume is in DMC3. And then the pants are brown or green cords.
Gloves are also bought (Hottopic)

If you have any trouble finding the gloves, i'm sure sites like angryyoungandpoor.com would have them! Or check Amazon or a local Thrift Store might provide you with some goodies!
